Rocks In The Attic #234: Alison Moyet – ‘Alf’ (1984)

RITA#234Now you’re talking. Love Resurrection is everything that is right with mid-‘80s music – soulful, well produced, respectful of ‘60s and ‘70s music, but a natural progression from Punk and New Wave, and forward-looking enough that it doesn’t date itself to the year in which it was released.

Strangely the only other country this album reached #1 aside from the UK was in New Zealand – and even though I’ve been in the country for five years, I haven’t experienced any residual love for Alison Moyet. Perhaps this country has forgotten about her?
